Innovative Plant Extraction Methods
Extraction process is the preliminary step for plant research because the preparation of crude extracts from plants is the starting point for the isolation and purification of chemical constituents present in plants. As the traditional techniques require longer extraction time thus running a severe risk of thermal degradation for most of the phyto-constituents. Novel extraction techniques such as microwave assisted extraction (MAE), supercritical fluid extraction (SCFE), accelerated solvent extraction (ASE), etc., had given the significant research attention.
These plant and medicinal products is expected to grow at the fastest rate of CAGR of over 12.0% from 2014 to 2020 due to great demand for therapeutic solutions and increase in Research and Development R&D.
